Sheriff’s Office Warns Of Traffic Violation Notice Scam

There’s a fake “Notice of Hearing – Traffic Violation” letter going around that looks VERY official but is a scam.

Red flags:

-Generic names (like “John Smith”)

-Vague “Parking / Toll Violation” with no specific details

-Urges you to act quickly or face penalties

-Includes a QR code to “settle your balance”

-No clear way to verify the case through an official court site

Do NOT:

-Scan the QR code

-Send payment

-Provide personal information
