Coffee That Isn’t Caffeinated Enough
A class-action lawsuit alleges that Trader Joe’s sold customer’s coffee, with “significantly less caffeine than expected.” Trader Joe’s French Roast “Low Acid” whole bean coffee, apparently has HALF the caffeine of typical coffee blends, but it doesn’t mention anything about reduced caffeine on the packaging. The complaint says, “It is so common that it is now cliché that coffee drinkers depend on the caffeine contained therein to provide them with the energy they need to get through the day. [And] the amount of caffeine [does] affect a consumer’s purchasing decision.” The suit is seeking unspecified damages, and they also want the “misleading” product be removed from shelves. Well . . . now we know where “Karen’s” buy their coffee.
