Put Your Baby on an IRON-RICH diet?

Here’s a headline any parent, or person who has ever had to take care of a baby, can relate to . . . “Used Diapers Are Being Turned Into Concrete”. Researchers in Japan say sanitized disposable diapers can be incorporated into concrete and mortar. Now, mortar for structural uses like load-bearing walls and road pavement, can only tolerate about 10% added diaper material. But mortar and concrete for NON-structural uses, like wall partitions and low-impact floor pavers, could tolerate being up to 40% diapers. Of course the win-win is finding a use for non-degradable waste, and dealing with a declining supply of building materials. Most used diapers now are just incinerated.
