Billy Idol Kicks Off U.S. Tour This Weekend

Billy Idol kicks off a short round of U.S. concerts Friday, May 3rd, in Palm Beach, Fla. as part of the 40th (actually 41st) anniversary of his double platinum 1983 album “Rebel Yell”. The tour includes eight shows finishing May 19th in Gary, Indiana, while another leg begins July 27th in Portland, Ore., but runs in Canada through August 25th.

Idol and his band, including longtime guitarist and co-writer Steve Stevens, will concentrate on the “Rebel Yell” album and his such as the title track, “Eyes Without a Face” and “Flesh For Fantasy” but also play other hits from throughout Idol’s career. The full list of dates can be found on billyidol.net.

The live shows come on the heels of a reissue of “Rebel Yell,” which features the original album remastered plus a second disc of demos, alternative versions and the unreleased songs “Best Way Out of Here” and Rose Royce’s “Love Don’t Live Here Anymore.”
“Rebel Yell” reached No. 6 on the Billboard 200 in 1983.

Idol and Stevens are currently finishing work on a new album that will be released later this year or during 2025.

Stevens tells us he and Idol always enjoy playing the “Rebel Yell” songs, hits and deep tracks alike:
