Tyler Perry & DeVon Franklin Land Deal To Make Faith-Based Films At Netflix
Tyler Perry and DeVon Franklin are joining forces to produce faith-based films under a multi-year deal with Netflix. The partnership expands on Perry’s existing partnership with the platform, which began in October 2023 and has since expanded to include scripted and unscripted TV projects. The first film under the new deal will be R&B, a modern-day retelling of the biblical love story of Ruth and Boaz. “Tyler and I have been great friends for over 15 years, so when he called me to team up on movies that can uplift the human spirit, I jumped at the chance and we couldn’t have a better partner than Netflix to help us inspire the world,” Franklin said in a statement.
