Egg prices have dropped for the first time in months. 

The cost of a dozen Grade A eggs fell to $5.12 in April.

The record high of $6.23 a dozen was reached in March.

Even though egg prices fell by 12.7 percent last month, the cost is still very high. Last April, twelve Grade A eggs cost $2.86.
