A reversal of fortune.
CDC Tells 180 Fired Employees To Come Back To Work
Former employees at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have been invited back to work.
About 180 CDC workers who were laid off two weeks ago received an e-mail on Tuesday saying the jobs had been reinstated “after further review and consideration.”
The e-mail also stated, “You should return to duty under your previous work schedule. We apologize for any disruption that this may have caused.”
Due to the Trump administration’s DOGE purge, nearly 1,300 CDC employees were supposed to be cut. The number dropped to between 700 and 750. The reinstatement puts the amount of CDC employees displaced from jobs at around 500 to 550.
