ChatGPT is turning into a shopping assistant.

OpenAI is partnering with Etsy and Shopify to turn ChatGPT into a virtual seller that can facilitate purchases.

OpenAI is working with payments company Stripe to enable purchases through the “Instant Checkout” system.

ChatGPT will not favor specific items or merchants in its product results, but will consider factors like availability, price, quality, and Instant Checkout availability to optimize the user experience.
