Are you going to shop til you drop?

Black Friday and Cyber Monday Spending Expected To Drop

Americans are planning to spend less money on Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales this year.

U.S. consumers are expected to spend an average of $622 over the four days starting on Thanksgiving, down from $650 last year.

The drop in expected spending was much sharper among shoppers earning less than $50,000 and those earning over $200,000. Those making less money plan to cut back by 12 percent, while higher earners plan to reduce their budget by 18 percent.

The U.S. economy shows signs of trouble with unemployment and inflation rising, and consumer confidence reaching its lowest levels on record this month.
