Do we really know how to wash our hands?

Americans Still Don’t Know How To Wash Hands

National Foundation for Infectious Diseases is calling out Americans since we don’t seem to know how to wash our hands.

Their new survey revealed that while most Americans know to wash up after using the restroom, handling waste or before handling food, only 33% wash their hands after coughing or sneezing into them!

20% surveyed even said they don’t bother to wash their hands at all because they believe it’s “not necessary”.

The older generation, those over 60% had better handwashing habits, with one explaining in the survey, “We didn’t have hand sanitizer growing up.”

The good news?  62% of those surveyed did know to wash their hands for at least 20 seconds or longer.
