Egg prices have reached a new high, with an average of $6.23 per dozen.

While January and February saw 30 million chickens killed due to a bird flu outbreak, analysts were hopeful egg prices would drop since only 2 million birds were slaughtered last month, with none of them coming from egg farms.

However, the prices haven’t leveled off as quickly as hoped and will likely remain high as eggs reach a higher demand ahead of the Easter holiday.
