Elon Musk’s SpaceX Starship Explodes After Takeoff

SpaceX’s massive Starship rocket exploded minutes after it cleared the launch pad during a flight test Thursday. Elon Musk had said the test posed steep challenges and risks.

No crew members were aboard the Starship. The SpaceX creation was reportedly the most powerful rocket ever built.  Musk said the company “learned a lot” after Thursday’s attempt, and SpaceX will try again in a few months.

The Starship plan is crucial to NASA’s plan to return astronauts to the moon.
