Facing a sales slump, Dollar General has announced it’s closing 141 locations in early 2026.

DG’s stock has fallen by nearly 70% over the last two years due to competition from Walmart and sites like Shein and Temu.

Reuters adds that Dollar General’s customers, “who are typically from the lower-income groups earning less than $50,000 annually,” aren’t shopping as often as they struggle to afford even basic necessities.

The locations set to close haven’t been revealed.
