Why Does the Blanket Always Win?

Steve’s Heartburn:  You’ve had this happen.

You finally settle onto the couch after a long day. You grab your favorite blanket, kick your feet up, and think, “This is perfect.”

For about ten seconds.

Then you stretch your legs and somehow get tangled in the blanket like you’re wrapped in a giant burrito.

You pull your feet loose… now your shoulders are cold.

You pull it back up… your feet disappear again.

How is this possible?

A blanket has exactly one job: keep you warm. Yet somehow it turns into a puzzle that requires engineering skills to solve.

Then comes the dog.

My dog can jump on the couch, spin around once, and instantly claim three-quarters of the blanket. Suddenly I’m hanging onto one tiny corner while he’s stretched out like he pays the mortgage.

The funny thing is, we all keep adjusting the blanket instead of admitting defeat.

Maybe blankets aren’t made to keep us warm.

Maybe they’re just here to remind us who’s really in charge.
