A D-I-Y Stupid Criminal Story

You’ve probably heard stories about people who getting pulled over for driving with expired plates, well THIS is a new take. The California Highway Patrol stopped a driver this month who had an elaborate HAND-DRAWN license plate. The weird thing is, the plate number and tags were legit! They just said they “lost” the actual plate, and were trying to stay compliant (???). The officers said they got points for creativity, but they were still slapped with a fine of $197. Which was FIVE TIMES the cost of a new plate they could’ve ordered through the DMV for $27. (Here’s a photo of the plate)
