Saturday was Pi Day (the date numbers 3-14 are the first three digits of pi). Since pizzas are pies too, Instacart put out some FROZEN pizza data for Pi Day. And here are the highlights . . .

  1. Pepperoni is America’s favorite: Pepperoni accounted for 43% of ALL the frozen pizzas sold last year, and more than cheese and supreme combined.
  2. Frozen Mexican and taco pizzas are growing at the fastest rate.
  3. The Midwest is the frozen pizza capital of the U.S.: The state that purchases the MOST frozen pizzas is Wisconsin, Hawaii orders the LEAST.
  4. Hawaiian pizzas are most popular in the Northwest: Oregon orders the MOST frozen Hawaiian pizzas, Florida orders the LEAST (and Hawaii is actually in the bottom half too).
