Best and Worst States for Road Trips
An annual study on the best states for a summer road trip just came out, and Rhode Island, America’s TINIEST state, came in last. (Not super shocking, you can drive across the whole state without even realizing it . . . then turn around to go back . . . and accidentally drive through it again.) The study looked at 32 different factors in three categories: Costs, Safety, and how many attractions or activities there are (like national parks, Amusement parks, Beaches, Lakes, and scenic drives). These are the 5 BEST summer road trip states: Minnesota, Utah, Louisiana, New York, and Florida (OHIO came in 10th by the way!). The 5 WORST states for road trips are: Rhode Island, Delaware, Connecticut, California, and Maryland. California has the most stuff to do, but it’s also the most expensive, particularly with gas. Louisiana is the cheapest. Maine is the safest (New Mexico is the LEAST safe), and Delaware has the LEAST stuff to do. WalletHub.com has the full ranking, and you can sort by category (click HERE for the link).
