Are you someone who prefers your meat to be a predictable color, or do you like to be surprised? There’s a TikTok trend of making BLUE HOT DOGS. You just soak your hot dogs in Gatorade for about 15 minutes, and they turn an “amazing blue color.” The videos don’t really say how they taste, so someone at a food blog did some experimenting. He ended up boiling them in the Gatorade, and said the smell was “wild”, and caught him off-guard (?). They DID change color, he used “Fierce Grape” Gatorade, and they changed to a “disturbing dark blue”. He concluded that it could be a fun to do with kids, but there’s no redeeming value for adults. Who looked at a hot dog and thought, “You know what’s missing? The color palette of a box of crayons.'”
