How About Some Personal Accountability?

Waffle House had a Strawberry Shortcake Waffle that’s apparently dangerously appealing, and 84-year-old Edward Bowlds found that out the hard way. Edward is suing Waffle House, because last year, he saw an ad for their limited-edition Strawberry Shortcake Waffle in the store window, and according to the court case . . . was so distracted by the delicious image, that he tripped over an “abnormally high” curb, and fell face-first into the pavement. There’s no denying he got hurt, but he’ll be okay, and his lawyer says he suffered “severe and permanent injuries”. The lawsuit accuses the Waffle House of “increasing the risk of harm beyond ordinary conditions, by prioritizing marketing and visual appeal over pedestrian safety” (???). They’re looking for around a $300,000 settlement. 300 grand because you were hypnotized by breakfast? By THAT standard, I should own half the country, after walking past pizza places.
