Introducing: The “Smile Ball”. . . an Onion That Doesn’t Make You Cry?

If your excuse for not eating vegetables was, that onions make you cry . . . gonna need a new excuse. Scientists in Japan have created an onion that does not make your eyes water when it’s chopped. They’ve been working on it for over 20 years, and we could start seeing them in stores everywhere soon. It’s called the “Smile Ball” onion, but sadly here in the states, they’re calling them “Goldies” instead. I was really hoping I could order Smile Ball Rings for an appetizer!
