It’s A New Month, So Here Are Things to Look Forward to in August
Today starts a brand new month, so, here are a few things to look forward to, during the month of in August . . .
In sports:
FOOTBALL!! The NFL preseason got underway last night (Chargers beat the Lions in the H.O.F. game). The rest of the league gets things underway next Thursday. College football kicks off on the 23rd (30th for Buckeye fans). And High School football fires up on the 22nd (Go Titans!). For those NOT into the whole “football thing” . . . the U.S. Open of tennis begins August 24th.
On TV:
Several of your favorite shows are back, including the “King of the Hill” revival on Hulu , “Wednesday” on Netflix, “Deadliest Catch” on Discovery, and “Limitless with Chris Hemsworth” on Disney+.
In Theaters:
“The Naked Gun” with Liam Neeson and Pamela Anderson is out TODAY. “Freakier Friday” with Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis opens on the 8th, and “Jaws” is being re-released to theaters for its 50th anniversary on August 29th.
And Finally, The Holidays:
Monday is National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day, the 8th is National Pickleball Day, the 12th is Vinyl Record Day, and the MOST important holiday of the month . . . National Radio Day is August 20th
