Songs about the Moon

Yesterday for April Fool’s Day, I posted a list of Classic Rock songs about fools. Well, in celebration of NASA successfully launched the Artemis II, sending 4 astronauts on a 10-day mission around the moon , the good folks at Ultimate Classic Rock posted a list of “Songs About The Moon.” It’s a pretty good list, and here are a few of the highlights . . .

“Bark at the Moon”,  Ozzy Osbourne (1983)

“Brain Damage” and “Eclipse”,  Pink Floyd (1973)

“Bad Moon Rising”,  Creedence Clearwater Revival (1969)

“Walking on the Moon”,  The Police (1979)

“Man on the Moon”,  R.E.M. (1992)

“Fly Me to the Moon”,  Frank Sinatra (1954)

“Moonchild”,  Iron Maiden (1988)

(Not many lists that include songs by both Frank Sinatra AND Iron Maiden!)

And of course the classic “Moondance” by Van Morrison (1970).
