The Cost Of An Average Fourth of July Cookout
The American Farm Bureau released its annual report on the cost of an average Fourth of July cookout. And it’s actually DOWN a tad from last year. The “average” backyard barbecue for 10 people will cost $70.92 this year, down 30 cents from 2024 (you gotta take your victories when you can). They say inflation and lower availability for some stuff has kept prices “stubbornly high.” If you’re just doing burgers and dogs, it might cost even less, if you’re doing ribeyes, obviously more. The 12 items they factor in are ground beef, chicken, pork chops, buns, cheese, potato salad, pork-and-beans, potato chips, cookies, ice cream, strawberries, and lemonade.
