The Happiest Part of the Day Is . . . Right When You Wake Up?
Saying it’s the “dawn of a new day” is sort of a freeing, hopeful expression, but let’s be honest, for a lot of people, the WORST part of the day is right when the alarm clock goes off . . . or is it? According to a new study, MORNINGS are actually the happiest time of day, when people are “happier, more satisfied, and less downbeat.” It’s a bit of a rollercoaster after that, with a big dip around 10:30am, but there’s another surge of happiness around 6:00pm (when many people are off work, and having dinner). The LEAST happy time is midnight (or whenever you go to bed for the night). Also, there was some other obvious stuff . . . the happiest mornings are on Saturdays and Sundays, and people are happier in summer months than winter ones.
