The Shat Joining The Ranks Of Van Halen!
William Shatner will debut tracks from his upcoming heavy metal album at a festival called “Riot Fest.” It goes down September 18th through the 20th in Chicago, with Shatner scheduled to perform on Sunday the 20th. And it’s pretty clear he totally gets this whole “rock star thing”, because he’s already sent the organizers his rider (like Van Halen’s “No green M&M’s in dressing room clause) The rider includes . . .
- The city renaming a boat in his honor so “he can captain a ship again”.
- Being allowed to sing “Take Me Out to the Ballgame” at a Chicago baseball game.
- An intro video by GWAR.
- A dressing room called “Shatner’s Shag Shack”.
- Four feet of Polish sausage.
- A Montreal Canadiens hockey sweater signed by John Stamos.
- And eight pallets of Faygo . . . specifically NOT to be shared with the “Insane Clown Posse” (who are also on the bill).
At 95, Shatner will be the oldest performer at Riot Fest, and the bill is loaded with DOZENS of bands, Including Twenty One Pilots, Alanis Morissette, Elvis Costello, Bad Religion, and the Sex Pistols.
