Your Father’s Day Weekend BUZZKILL

For years, many people believed a glass of wine with dinner might actually be good for you. But a new study says there’s no evidence that any amount of drinking improves your health. In fact, they found men who drink two alcoholic beverages a day, face roughly a 4% lifetime risk of dying from an alcohol-related illness or injury. And the study also found women face a greater risk of alcohol-related liver disease than men, at similar drinking levels. Based on the findings, the study authors recommend limiting alcohol intake to NO MORE than ONE DRINK PER DAY for both men and women. No health benefits from alcohol? That’s fine, I wasn’t drinking Capn’ and Cokes for my wellness journey. If I wanted self-improvement, I’d have bought a treadmill.
