Big Changes To Sports Betting Proposed At Ohio Statehouse

(ONN) – Ohio lawmakers are introducing a pair of bills that would completely change the sports betting industry in the state.

Sports betting became legal after Governor DeWine signed it into law in 2021.

Since then, it’s become a big business with an estimated $10.3 billion dollars bet in the state last year.

The legislation, known as the “Save Ohio Sports Act,” would limit bets to only the state’s casinos and would ban online betting and betting on college athletics.

It would also ban prop bets like gambling on how many yards a player might have as well as parlay betting, which essentially is stringing bets together to increase your potential winnings.
