Planning Commission Recommends Approval Of Shady Grove Zoning Amendment

The Findlay City Planning Commission has recommended that Findlay City Council approve the zoning amendment for the Shady Grove Golf Course property.  The vote was unanimous.

The applicant requested a zoning designation of M-2 Multi-Family High Density to accommodate multi-family dwelling structures and related uses.

The Planning and Zoning Committee of Findlay City Council met and recommended approval by a vote of 3-2, and now the rezoning will go before full City Council for approval.

The golf course is located on the south side of US 224 and the southwest corner of the intersection with Township Road 237, just east of Findlay.

The property owner has applied for annexation into the City of Findlay from Marion Township.

A developer has market rate apartments planned for the location.

The parcel was zoned Agriculture in Marion Township. In Marion Township, golf courses are a conditional use in the Agriculture District.

The annexation must be approved by City Council before the rezoning request.

The annexation could be completed in the middle of August, following rules laid out in the Ohio Revised Code.
