Police Department’s Soft Interview Room Project Completed

(From Tiffin Police Chief David Pauly)

I’m proud to share that our Soft Interview Room at the Tiffin Police Department is now complete and it wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible support of this community.

This project came to life thanks to the generosity, time, and hard work of so many. I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to the Tiffin Community Foundation, Tiffin Women in Action (TWIA), Lee’s Flooring, Decker’s Furniture, Top Gun Drywall, Lofay Construction, Tiffin City Public Works, the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office work crew, AMVETS Post #48, American Legion Post 169, Fraternal Order of Eagles 402, Dr. Joel Consolo of Ohio Foot Inc., VFW Post 2858, and the many individual community members who contributed in meaningful ways.

The purpose of this Soft Interview Room is to provide a safe, calm, and supportive environment for victims, witnesses, and community members, particularly children and those experiencing trauma, during sensitive conversations and investigations. By creating a space that is more comfortable and less intimidating than a traditional interview setting, we are better able to gather information while showing compassion, dignity, and respect to those we serve during some of the most difficult moments of their lives.

We are truly humbled by the generosity of this community. This room is a direct reflection of what can be accomplished when people come together with a shared commitment to care for one another. Your support has allowed us to enhance how we serve Tiffin in a meaningful and lasting way.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you. Your investment in this project will make a difference for years to come, and I am deeply grateful for your continued commitment to our community.
