A 34-year-old man died four days after being bitten by one of his two pet gila monsters.
The venomous reptiles are native for the southwest US.
While a bite usually isn’t fatal to humans, doctors believe the man may have suffered an allergic reaction.
The last recorded death from a gila monster bite was in 1930.
