Thanksgiving Foods you Should Never Feed Your Dog

According to the American Kennell Club, veterinarians see a spike in visits after Thanksgiving. That’s because many common Turkey Day foods can harm dogs’ health.

Some choices are good for dogs, such as turkey meat, sweet potatoes, and pumpkin. Dogs love potatoes, but stick to the boil or plain baked potatoes for your pooch. Mashed potatoes made with cream and butter are not recommended.

Here are foods you should avoid giving dogs.

Turkey bones, skin, and gravy.

Stuffing, casseroles, creamed peas, chocolate, cookies, pies, and sweets (especially anything containing xylitol).

Avoid giving your dog raisins, grapes, and anything made with onions, scallions, and garlic.

Ham and avoid foods with spices.
