Details About Today’s Solar Eclipse
Today is when the skies over most of the U.S. will darken for a few minutes.
The solar eclipse takes place at various times across the country.
The event is the first solar eclipse visible to us in seven years and will be the last until 2044.
The darkness will hit Texas first at around 1:27 Central Time. The path of totality will end in Maine at around 3:35 Eastern Time.
Major cities along the eclipse path include San Antonio and Austin, Texas; Indianapolis; and Rochester and Syracuse, New York.
Viewing times and the amount of darkness vary by time zone and parts of the country.
Weather will play a factor in if you’ll be able to see the eclipse.
