As nearly 39.4 million Americans gear up for Memorial Day road trips, AAA is reminding folks to make sure your car is ready!

The most common calls they receive were flat tires, dead batteries, and lockouts.

“As you finalize your travel plans, don’t forget to check your vehicle’s condition,” said Mark Jenkins, PR Manager for AAA.

 “A simple pre-trip inspection of your tires, battery, brakes, and other essentials can prevent unexpected breakdowns.”

Another important feature is your wiper blades. You might not use them often but you could hit unexpected bad weather on your trip.

Also have that “just in case” emergency kit with jumper cables, a flashlight, bottled water, and snacks. A first aid kit is also a must. 

So whether you’re hitting the road this weekend or sometime this summer being prepared is the best way to ensure a safe trip.
