Winter Storm Fern has left a damaging impact on the United States. 

While the heaviest snow is finally moving offshore, the danger isn’t over—more than 200 million people are now under severe cold alerts stretching across almost every state east of the Rockies.

At least 21 deaths have been blamed on the weather across twelve states, including Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and Louisiana.

The power grid has taken a massive hit, leaving more than 700,000 energy customers in the dark as of Monday night, with Tennessee seeing the worst of it with over 230,000 outages.

Travel chaos continues at the airports, with 12,000 flight cancellations reported yesterday and another 4,000 flights grounded on Monday.
