If you have a new pet named after a ‘K-Pop Demon Hunter’, you’re right on trend! Animal boarding company Rover looked over the biggest pet names this year, and the list shows the 90s and current entertainment dominating their list.

The top three male puppy names for 2025 are Caesar, Mufasa and Oswald.
The top names for female puppies are Elphie, Tsuki and Rumi
Tater, Milton and Stewie were the most popular names for male kittens, and for females they were Priscilla, Snowball and Pickle.  
The hottest pop culture puppy names include Forrest Gump, Gracie Lou Freebush and Willie Wonka, with kittens receiving the names Bill Murray, Mary-Kate, Fat Louie and Jack Sparrow.
Rover added that it expects Taylor Swift-related pet names, like Ophelia, Elizabeth Taylor and Opalite, to appear in 2026.
