Why you don’t want to reply to a random “How are you?” Facebook message.

200 Million American Targeted In New Wave Of Phishing Attacks

Think twice before replying to a random “How are you?” Facebook message.

Hackers are breaking into social media accounts to impersonate friends and family in an effort to drain your bank accounts.

More than 200 million Americans have been targeted in this Facebook scam, which has a crook impersonating someone you know to convince you that your account is compromised.  The scammer will then send you a link to “change your password”, which actually redirects you to a phishing site to steal your login credentials.

Tech experts say that you can protect yourself by using strong, unique passwords, enabling two-factor authentication and by never clicking on suspicious links in messages and emails.
