Every State’s Second-Favorite Potato Side Dish
You can never have enough potatoes at Thanksgiving. There’s always room for mashed potatoes or some other potato dish (I think “cheesy potatoes” have put themselves in the same neighborhood as mashed potatoes) Google Trends has a rundown of every state’s SECOND-favorite potato dish (???)
Basic baked potatoes were #1 in six states, including Idaho (which should probably get TWO votes).
Northern states like to add cheese, as in “Cheesy potatoes”.
Au gratin are big in Hawaii.
Potato soup is a favorite across middle America, including Ohio.
And there were some more unique choices, like . . .
California: Potato tacos,
Tennessee: Potato candy,
Maine: Potato donuts,
And New York loves them some Potato pie.
