Area children ages 10 to 14 are invited to step into a high-energy research lab inspired by classic space adventures and futuristic worlds at this spring’s STEAM Club at the University of Findlay’s Mazza Museum.

The 10-week afterschool program, with a theme of “Galactic STEAM Lab,” is designed for “curious minds ready to explore the science behind unseen forces,” said Kristine Habelmann, education manager at the Mazza Museum.

Students will tackle real scientific investigations and engineering challenges with hands-on exploration, experimenting with energy and light, building and testing systems, and designing solutions.

“This experience is imaginative and immersive,” she explained. “STEAM Club helps students learn to generate ideas, test and analyze their results, revise their designs, and use real evidence.”

Students who attend at least six sessions will earn a lab coat badge and be invited to attend a special ceremony May 12.

Sessions take place from 5:30 to 7 p.m. each Tuesday, from March 10 to May 5, at the Joseph & Judith Conda STEAM Education Center on the UF campus.

Registration is required by March 10 and can be completed online at mazzamuseum.org/steam-club.

The cost is $200 per student. Scholarships are available; for more information, send an email to [email protected].
