Two Putnam County Intersections Changing To All-Way Stops

(From the Miller City Fire Department)

Traffic Safety Alert

Beginning Monday, May 4th, two intersections in our area will be converted to 4-way stops:

-State Route 109 & State Route 613 near West Leipsic

-State Route 108 & State Route 613 near Miller City

This is a major change, especially for northbound and southbound traffic that has not previously been required to stop.

We urge everyone to use extreme caution:

Come to a complete stop at all stop signs

Look carefully in all directions before proceeding

Do NOT rely on signs alone

Do NOT assume other drivers will stop or even see the sign

We also encourage parents to take a moment to talk with younger drivers about defensive driving—remind them to stay alert, expect the unexpected, and never assume other drivers will do the right thing.

These intersections may be confusing at first, and it will take time for all drivers to adjust. Your attention and caution can prevent serious accidents.

Please help us keep our community safe by slowing down, staying alert, and spreading the word.
