The IRS says it’s holding onto more than 940,000 unclaimed refunds from 2020 worth more than $1 billion.
You have until May 17th to submit a return for your unclaimed refund.
The average refund in 2020 was $932.
An IRS rep said, “We want taxpayers to claim these refunds, but time is running out for people who may have overlooked or forgotten about these refunds.”
